Sustainability & Carbon Reduction

Reducing the carbon intensity of precision manufacturing.

Hagbros Precision is a Texas manufacturer of precision machined and production components, founded in 1966, with 80+ employees. The aerospace and energy customers we supply hold their suppliers to real environmental standards. This page states our approach and our commitment.

Our commitment

Hagbros Precision commits to reducing its Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas emissions by at least 1% annually.

Scope 1 covers direct emissions from our own operations and vehicles; Scope 2 covers indirect emissions from the energy we purchase. We measure these emissions and review performance against this commitment at leadership level.

How we approach this

A commitment is only as good as the process behind it. Ours is straightforward.

01 / MEASURE

Measure

We track energy and fuel consumption across the facility and fleet as the basis for our emissions accounting, using recognized greenhouse gas accounting methodology.

02 / PRIORITIZE

Prioritize

Reduction opportunities are assessed on emissions impact and operational practicality, and our capital planning accounts for energy performance.

03 / ACT

Act

Improvements are implemented through facility and equipment projects. See what we've done.

04 / REVIEW

Review

Performance is reviewed by leadership, and we report current data directly to customers who request it.

What we've done

Facility HVAC upgraded

Two facility air conditioning units were replaced with higher-efficiency equipment. Space conditioning is a significant share of a manufacturing facility's electricity use, so higher-efficiency HVAC directly reduces purchased energy.

Fleet efficiency improved

A delivery vehicle was replaced with a more fuel-efficient model, reducing direct fuel consumption from our own fleet operations.

LED lighting conversion underway

Conversion of facility lighting to high-efficiency LED is underway. LED fixtures use substantially less electricity than the lighting they replace and reduce cooling load as well.

We continue to evaluate and act on opportunities in facility lighting, HVAC and building systems, compressed air efficiency, electrical distribution, and fleet.

Material stewardship

Precision machining generates recoverable material every day. Managing it well is ordinary discipline at Hagbros — and it is durable practice, not a program with an end date.

Responsible business

Environmental performance sits within a broader governance structure. The following are in place or being established, and are available to customers on request.

  • Code of Conduct covering ethical conduct, conflicts of interest, fraud, and data security
  • Supplier Code of Conduct
  • Sustainable Procurement Policy
  • Anti-bribery awareness and employee acknowledgement
  • Risk assessment covering corruption and information security risk
  • Formal supplier evaluation process
  • Business continuity planning
  • Quality certifications: AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015
